Our Story
Douglas-Ochoa Ventures was built out of lived experience – not theory, not trends, and not surface-level advice.
After years of working inside complex organizations and alongside growing businesses, we saw the same problem repeat itself again and again: founders and leaders were getting plenty of recommendations, but very little real support when it came time to execute. Strategy decks were delivered. Ideas were discussed. And then… nothing actually changed.
Businesses don’t stall because of a lack of ideas. They stall because execution breaks down.
Operations become inconsistent. Communication gets unclear. Marketing loses direction. Technology becomes fragmented instead of supportive. Decisions stack up faster than anyone has the capacity to act on them.
Douglas-Ochoa Ventures exists to close that gap.
We were founded to support businesses that need more than advice – they need partners who understand how to translate ideas into action, align people and systems, and do the work required to move a business forward.

Together, we bring experience across communications, marketing, operations, and technology – allowing us to support businesses holistically instead of in silos.
We understand how teams communicate and collaborate, how products and services are marketed to consumers, how businesses function behind the scenes, and how systems either enable growth or quietly slow it down. That perspective shapes everything we do.
Matt Douglas-Ochoa
Co-Founder + Managing Partner
Expertise: Communication, Marketing + Operations
Matt Douglas-Ochoa brings deep experience across communications, marketing, and operational execution, helping organizations bring clarity to complexity and turn strategy into action. His work focuses on strengthening how teams communicate, how businesses market their offerings, and how operations function and scale.
Matt holds a degree in Communication with a focus on interpersonal and organizational communication, which shapes his clarity-driven, people-centered approach. He has spent more than a decade supporting organizational growth through strategic planning, communications and marketing initiatives, process improvement, and cross-functional leadership in complex environments.
Born and raised in North Carolina, Matt brings strong familiarity with the local business landscape and remains actively engaged in the community. He has been recognized for his leadership and impact, including being named a Raleigh Magazine “New Influential” honoree.
Luke Douglas-Ochoa
Co-Founder
Expertise: Strategic Technology + Innovation
Luke Douglas-Ochoa brings more than 20 years of experience in technology and systems execution, helping businesses build secure, reliable, and scalable technology environments. His work centers on aligning technology with real business needs so systems actively support daily operations and growth.
Luke holds a degree in Electronic Engineering and specializes in translating technical complexity into practical, usable solutions. His experience spans hardware and software installation, network and device setup, system configuration, cybersecurity, and ongoing technical support for growing organizations.
Born and raised in Venezuela, Luke has proudly called the United States home for more than eight years. He brings a global perspective and a hands-on execution mindset, ensuring technology functions as an asset rather than a barrier.
